Hello – again!
We are happy to introduce some new artists to our roster – and to welcome some old friends back! Cheers to Smokey Joe & The Kid, The Sweet Life Society, Basement Freaks, and Funkanomics!
Smokey Joe & The Kid
The sound of these guys takes us from 1920’s Swing to today’s Hip Hop and Electro. Percussion solos played with scratches, beats and melodies banged out on the MPC – everything is performed live. Together with VJ Miss Chemar, they deliver a unique, dynamic A/V Show!
The Sweet Life Society
The creaking sound of old school vinyl is not enough for the eccentric band “Sweet Life Society”; the talented group that mix contemporary tunes with old school “Cotton Club”, re-styling the “Swing Music Culture” into a mix of electronic sounds, while also adding the performance of live instruments from the best “Torinese” Jazz scene.
Basement Freaks
Basement Freaks is the brainchild of George Fotiadis, a major force in the scene for well over ten years. After more than 14 successful vinyl releases, 2 full albums, over 15 remixes and countless digital EPs, George has been called “The hardest working man in Funk”. His music has been praised by MixMag,iDJ Mag and even the Godfather of Nu-Skool Breaks – Rennie Pilgrem. In fact, every respectable funk DJ on the planet includes a Basement Freaks tune in their set.
Funkanomics (Ghetto Funk)
4 turntables and that phenomenal funky-sexy-party sound perfectly designed for the dance floor: that’s Funkanomics!
Juwee, Fx Farmer and Bobby Kudlicz from southern Germany formed the team in 2006 and toured clubs and festivals worldwide ever since. Beautiful crunchy bass lines funked up with pumping grooves: listen to it once and you won’t get it out of your head. And feet…
We look forward to great shows with those guys!
